I'm not a person who likes saying this often, but I guess this occassion demands it, so here goes, "I told you so!!!".

I'm referring to my earlier post on the recently concluded India-Windies ODI series. The Windies, quite (un)expectedly put the so called Indian Tigers in their place. Not to say that the Indians didn't play well at all throughout the series, but nobody can question the fact that they didn't quite get all their basics right all through the series. How else can one explain the much vaunted Dhoni's failures in almost all the matches, the toothless opening bowling attack which was mauled by Gayle, the lacklustre fielding performances, and the absolutely nonsensical team selections.

For everyone who thought that the Indian cricket team was on a roll and especially the die-hard fans of the team, the last 2 matches have been a reality check / wake-up call. Yes, I am talking about the same team which has had tremendous success in recent times, especially when it came to chasing totals (which by the way had been India's undoing historically).

I guess it is about time I broke my stoic silence about this reservation issue and came up with a post about it.

In my view, and I have posted it on the comments section of Govar's blog as well, the Government should subsidise and reserve a certain portion of seats in schools for the economically and otherwise backward communities, but only upto the primary school level, ie, from kindergarten upto standard 10.

Now, I dunno why the media bashed 'Being Cyrus' so much. Yes, it doesn't quite follow the time-tested trend of being predictable where boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, boy runs around trees with girl, boy bashes up baddies, boy marries girl and lives happily ever after. And it is not quite as offbeat as having 6 short stories which are supposed to thrill you and scare you, all rolling into one horror movie whose title states that you are required to be scared.

It's quite amazing how the Karnataka State Govt. or more specifically the civic agencies of Bangalore never seem to learn from their past mistakes. Or maybe it is just a classic case of inertia in terms of how they react to events.

I m referring to the wet and sorry state of most of the roads in Bangalore after yesterday's downpour.

Well, after having read quite a good number of articles, books, etc on Customer Relationship Management and Customer Services during my stint at IIM Indore, I came out expecting at least the biggies in Corporate India to be following at least a few of the concepts mentioned here.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to visit a Reliance India Mobile Webworld to purchase one of those Rs 2,600 lifetime incoming-free connections.

I just read this amazing column in the latest issue of The Week and thought that it ought to be shared with the rest of you. It gives an interesting take on how today's mass media just tries to sensationalise news rather than engaging in dispassionate independent reporting of the same. Antara Dev Sen picks on the Pramod Mahajan shooting incident to illustrate her case.
