I’m only 30 odd hours away from home, but then I’m filled with a sense of nostalgia about leaving this grand old campus, and more importantly leaving behind this motley crowd of people behind. More specifically I’m gonna miss the camaraderie that happens when we sit in the mess discussing global issues such as grading policies, lecturer quirks such as “could you able to understand”, the stolen winks of sleep, the amazing team work when 4-5 of us pull one guy’s leg, and various other things.

But I’m looking forward to the break simply because of the fact that it gives me an opportunity to look into myself and correct a few fundamental defects. It’s high time that I started doing a few things correctly, and I’m yet to analyse as to how to go about doing that.

First lesson learnt, Impression Management. Currently, I look like one of those LeT or JeM militants in terms of facial hair. Unkempt beard, perennial scowl, anti-social behaivior like snapping at people. All of these give the impression that I m trying really hard, and am studying like crazy. Reality:--> I m sitting up till 1 AM and updating my blog, which not many people read anyways.

Second lesson, maximum learning happens when both parties come prepared.

An awesome analytical review of the bunking patterns of PGP participants, by Grand Master GeeJay. Click here to get enlightened.

Well, today we had our last official session of Term 1, barring the end terms which begin tomorrow and go on till the 16th of September.

The last session was a Behaivior and Theories of Organisation session, and my good friend, Chandoo has posted the details on his blog. As I simply cannot beat him at this blogging game, I am cross linking his lovely post. Click here to read more about the last session of Term 1.

Well, I never realized that I would be expected to know so much about production scheduling problems. Even when I was told that I would be required to study Operations Research as a compulsory subject, not for once did I realize that it would be so production oriented.

In any case, even though my understanding about the whole area of OR has improved considerably, I don’t think I’m ever going to be comfortable enough with the subject to sit through an exam on the same.

I ll be back home in a few days and here’s a tentative wish list of all the things that I wanna do back at Bangalore:

Have all meals at home, coz man, I’m really missing my mom’s cooking (although I could never stop cribbing when I was back at home!!! Amma, I’m sorry for all the cribbing all these years, it’s taken me IIM Indore to discover how awesome a cook you are!!!)

Have a nice argument with my dad about something or the other.

Here's an interesting article I came across and thought should share with you:

Of all the discoveries we've made during the past several decades, nothing can match nanotechnology's potential to improve our lives. Even at this early stage in its development, the young nanotech industry has already delivered many products to the marketplace--from more effective sunscreens to dust-repelling window coatings and carbon nanofibers stronger than any other known substance.

Who would’ve thought that the two of them would go together. But then, funny are the ways of life.

Today was Janmashtami, and surprisingly, the Cultural Committee, or CulCom as we fondly refer to them decided that it was time to give spirituality and religion a chance. And lo behold, more than 60 of the most materialistic guys and girls, who could only talk about placements, CVs, and cost-to-company figures, suddenly turn up in white kurta pyjamas and start singing bhajans.

Recently, an upheaval has been happening back at the plateau that IIM Indore is situated upon and it is called "gracious moi". What I am referring to is the blog of Pawan Gulani of our batch. The blog by itself is not too great, but then the rest of the batch is using it to vent out frustrations of all kinds and generally have a helluva lot of fun.

Do check out the comments section at this link, if you want a clearer idea of what I am trying to tell you.

Hey there guys,

I know it' s a little late, but then better late than never. I just took the F*R*I*E*N*D*S quiz to figure out which of the characters I seem to mirror the most, and guess what, surprise, I turned out to be Chandler.

I'm Chandler Bing from Friends!

Take the Friends Quiz here.
